Sand Casting
Sand casting is one of the oldest and most versatile metal casting processes, widely used for manufacturing components of various sizes, from small parts to very large industrial castings. In this process, a mold is created using specially prepared sand, which is packed around a pattern to form the desired shape. After removing the pattern, molten metal is poured into the mold cavity and allowed to solidify.
This process is highly flexible and cost-effective, especially for low to medium production volumes. It supports a wide range of metals, including cast iron, steel, aluminum, and bronze.
Advantages
- Low tooling and production cost
- Suitable for large and heavy components
- Flexibility in design and material selection
- Easy modification of molds
- Ideal for small batch production
